Like many prominent artists, A.J.'s skills were honed in the Black Church. Overtime, A.J. has forged a captivating musical identity of his own with a style that is a rich blend of gospel, R&B, and jazz influences, including musical greats like  Kenny G, Gerald Albright, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, and Grover Washington.
A.J.'s incredible skills and range propelled him to open an act for renowned recording artist Tank and to perform with legendary artists Betty Wright and Shirley Murdock.
