Join us for the next Ask An Expert: Lunch & Learn Series at the chamber office on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at 11:30 am.
Our guest speaker will be Tessie Watts, M.Sc., Owner/CEO of The Leadership Haven Resource Center, LLC presenting "The Delegation Equation: Finding the Perfect Balance for Leadership Success."
Delegation is an essential skill for leaders. Effective delegation allows leaders to focus on their core responsibilities while empowering their team members to take on more responsibility and develop their skills. This session aims to enhance participants' delegation skills, equip them with practical techniques, and empower them to overcome common challenges. The goal is to strengthen their leadership muscle, enabling them to find the perfect balance to delegate effectively and achieve better results through their teams.
Attendees:
- Will be exposed to common challenges and concerns associated with delegation, such as fear of losing control, lack of trust, and potential resistance from team members.
- Will explore methods for empowering team members, including providing autonomy, recognizing their achievements, and fostering a culture of accountability.
- Will be equipped with practical skills and techniques to delegate tasks efficiently and effectively, such as task analysis, prioritization, and matching tasks to team members' strengths.
Tessie Watts, M.Sc., is the Owner/CEO of The Leadership Haven Resource Center, LLC providing transformational workshops, business retreats, and resources to corporations, nonprofits, and small businesses. The Leadership Haven provides training and consulting on multiple topics, including emotional intelligence, public speaking, DEI, team building, board development, and organizational strategy and development.
Some of Tessie’s most recognized clients include the government of Palm Beach County, Riviera Beach CRA, Community Partners of South Florida, and multiple other prominent nonprofits and community organizations. She is an active member of several organizations, including the Black Chamber of Commerce of Palm Beach County and Impact The Palm Beaches. She is also a regular volunteer for the Lindsey Davis Senior Center in Riviera Beach, FL., – where she is always eager to serve this amazing community in any way she can.
Tessie has a master’s degree in organizational leadership and years of training, public speaking, and consulting experience. She is thankful for every opportunity to work with and develop leaders and organizations with the necessary skills to navigate today's fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
